Leeds based manufacturer of power and distribution transformers, Winder Electrical has secured a long term contract with major utility provider Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE).
The new contract, which will run for up to five years, is valued at £8m and revolves around supplying both Continuous Emergency Rated and non Continuous Emergency Rated transformers for both the Scottish and Southern regions.
It has taken the company many years to develop its relationship with SSE to the point of being able to secure such a prestigious contract, and Winder Electrical’s team is delighted with its success, as general manager Paul Matthews explains;
“We are especially pleased to have won this contract with SSE, given that tenders were received from across the world for supply of this equipment, and our success is a testimony to the hard work of our entire team who were involved in the process
“Winder Electrical is one of three successful companies to share this massive opportunity and we look forward to building on our relationship further over the next five years.”
The company continues to develop its portfolio within the utility sector as this latest contract can be added to its existing term contracts with Northern Ireland Electricity and United Utilities, with several other opportunities currently at the tender stage.
